Just came up with it last Night!! It's an idea that can apply to ANY Foam Core Board Aircraft!! 😉

Adds almost NO WEIGHT, considerably more durable...
PAINTS easier! 😎

I've seen so many FT build Videos, so many times...
I had to think about where I came up with the Turtle Deck.
It's from the FT Cruiser! 👍👍

Since most of the FT designs are centered around a basic Fuse and Wing design - a lot can be done from combining!

And I build VERY slowly, by FT standards...
This truly IS a something for everyone facet of the Hobby! 😎

Watching those videos somehow has most of the satisfaction and none of the frustrations of building yourself.

These build videos, especially with Josh building is like watching Bob Ross paint: soo relaxing and satisfying.

Which is a shame, really... Nothing against Andres or John Overstreet, but they don't hold a candle to the relaxation and satisfaction Josh provides.
Actually, they should get Stephan or Alex to do one of the build videos, that could be fun...
We should probably try not to derail this thread any further so I'll shut up on that topic...

With my love for Ultra Micros I've had quite a few.
But, of course building something with your own hands is the best.

Back on topic, you know, use that turtle deck, move the wing up 4 inches, add a smaller wing to the bottom of the fuselage, N-struts and you got yourself a passable Fokker D.VII...

I just looked at @unrauv design of the D. VII...
That Guy designed a VERY Scale looking Model of it! 👍👍
Looks very doable from the Scout Fuse, with my Turtle Deck! 😉

What it would really need for the full effect, is DR. 1 style Tail Feathers.
It APPEARS to have a water cooled V8, instead of the crazy SPINNING 9cyl Rotary...

It ALMOST makes me want to build one as a STATIC Foam Board MODEL. 😲
But, who am I kidding.... I'd FLY her!!!

...... Watching how my Dad Had slowly been taken down by Parkinson's Disease....
I've noticed some disturbing movements and "ticks" in Josh Bixler...
I SINCERELY HOPE that I'm wrong! 😞

SOME Progress....
I finished the 3D Printed Landing Gear, and decided on a Medium Blue for it....

And basically the whole underside of the Fuse! 😉

NOT the final design, just wanted enough color down there to see. I like the look!

I got the Tail Feathers straightened back out... (What happened was in my last Video, posted below)😉

The "Pilot" is getting impatient!! 😜

Poormanrc, i recently stuffed my cub good and proper, damage was extensive.
ive just finished re building the front end.

SOME Updates!
Finishing up the bottom color....

I'm going to have to decide what will be "good enough"....

Finished with the Cockpit Details. I wanted a "representation" that would look OK from a distance.
Hopefully I've accomplished that...

Fortunately, these post-WWI Aircraft didn't have the most sophisticated instrumentation!! 😜

Windscreen is coming...

Just a piece of Lexan scrap from a RC Truck Body, cut, and trimmed with a Sharpie!

Mounting it is a whole other issue! Most glues, including Hot Glue, DON'T stick to it....

Comments, pertaining to this Build, are certainly welcome!! 😉
