My Journey into FPV

Make sure you fly a few times with the fpv gear on the plane but turned off before you fly fpv. Just to get used to the feel of the plane or whatever. Also, have a spotter with you if possible when you try the goggles out.

Awesome to hear that you are starting in FPV. It can be a fun and rewarding experience, but requires some extra knowledge, skill, and a bit of luck. First of all I recommend watching this video series by IBCrazy (the designer of the cloverleaf antenna), specifically the bit on how to conduct your first FPV flight. Most of the stuff you probably already know, but it can't help to refresh.

Definitely do your first flight on a plane you are used to flying that is super stable in the air. I used my Delta Ray as I could put it into beginner mode (auto-pilot) and switch between FPV and LoS. I took of LoS for my first flight, then timidly switched over to FPV. Make sure you have a spotter should you loose video signal. If you fly at a club or have a buddy you can buddy box and be FPV the whole time, but let the "instructor" take off and land.

Also find your flying location in Google Earth and figure out what your flying area looks like from above. Find several landmarks such as a lake, a really big tree, a runway, a road, etc... to keep yourself oriented. Hope you have fun in this exciting part of the hobby,
