My Mini P51 build with Rasterize skins

I decided I wanted to try out one of the great skin sets that Rasterize has been kine enough to release. I decided to start with the P51 since it is such a great looking plane. Rather than cover the plane in laser printed paper I decided to try covering it is some printable vinyl/fabric mix that I had laying around from a past project. It is extemely tough, almost impossible to tear, but that comes at a weight penalty which is by far my biggest concern. I will post some pictures here as I prgress. I started with a plain white plane as suggested to get the hang of the build and make (most) of my mistakes on that one which has now been relegated to glider duty for the kids.

I worked on it some more today. I am really concentrating on trying to line up all of the panel lines and markings. That makes for slow progress but pleasing results. Since I am using the vinyl coated fabric for a skin I am able to glue and then pinch shut the edges of the wings and tail to eliminate most of the raw foam edge.

Me too.....but it sure is going to be heavy! I really need to finish it now and find out.
