There is some interesting developments you might want to look into to get that foam plane to go faster.
The FAI class of flyers are exploring geared motors/props that match the weight/drag of the plane to push the speed up further and further. Sounds very promising. Since they are an elite group, you will have to do extensive searches to draw out what combo would be best for you. Combined that with the matched battery, and you easily will improve the speed. For example, the gear segment is in line and the same dia as the motor.
The racers tend to be a friendly group, so ask them questions. They will even loan your there backup plane, if ever needed.(ask my son)
