I just brought my nephew an "FT Tiny Trainer Complete Starter Bundle," and we are working on building it. It includes an FT Branded Pocket CC2500 transmitter.
I'm looking for (hopefully free or very cheap) RC simulator software that will work with that transmitter. I found a variety of simulators, but I can't figure out how/if to use that transmitter with a USB cord to control them. I don't necessarily need it to directly simulate the Mighty Mini Tiny Trainer MKR2 that we are building. I think any beginner trainer would give him some good experience before we actually head out to the park.

I just need him to get used to the idea of reversing the controls in your head when the plane is flying toward you versus away. Just basic stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Turn on the radio. Plug it into your computer with the usb-c port on the TOP of the radio. A menu will appear. Select Joystick.
There should be a calibration/setup for the simulator you've chosen. Do the calibration, and you're ready to go.

Picasim and wings are both good options. A recommendation for the real plane: don't try to fly it with the 3 channel wing. Use the 4 channel wing with ailerons (the moving flaps on the wings) it is way easier to turn with the ailerons than rudder. It will also teach them to fly most planes that come stock with ailerons.

Wings is pretty good tho. I just wish they had more models based off ones from (for example) horizon hobby. Wings is also more fpv-oriented

This is the opposite of what I've heard before. I chose the Tiny Trainer specifically so that I could set it up 3-channel for my grandson. But now I'm second guessing myself. (BTW, I'm also on the fence between RF and Wings as a sim to get my grandson started.)

Rudder, with patience can do the full AMA pattern except easily fly inverted. Cant stall turn with ailerons (immelman) cant easily fly crosswind without one wing low, hard as heck to drive on ground with out a steerable nosewheel. Hard to trim for straight flight, engine running. Pick your difficulties.

I would definitely recommend RF over Wings if you can swing it.
