New ElectroHub build - Will liftoff on one side only not both at the same time!

Hey everyone, This is my first home built quad, I have purchased them RTF in the past and have about 2 years flying quads and troubleshooting under my belt, I have more experience with planes and have built the Delta, Bloody Wonder, FT Versa, Simple Soarer and Mustang..

My problem:
I am unable to get this quad to lift off and hover, it will lift only one side at a time, I can move the trim from left to right one or two clicks and it will swap which side lifts up. But i cannot get both at the same time.

I searched the forums and tried all of the basic tips and tricks, Calibrated my Gyro and Accel via MultiWii, the throws on my Transmitter are setup +/-125 (Spektrum DX6i) with airplane mode. The motors are turning in the right direction as well as the prop's being Numbers up. If i rotate the stick around I can see that different motors will try to lift off.. but never more than one side at a time.

I cannot for the life of me get this thing to fly off of the ground from both sides at the same time. The numbers look great in MultiWii, I used the Flip1.5 for Dummies Youtube video and followed all the steps and configuration there.

One note: one of the ESC's that came with it would not function, so i swapped one out with a 18A I had from another build. I have another Fire Red ESC that will be here tomorrow, but i had the day off and wanted to try to fly some if at all possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Everything I purchased was from RTF quad's FliteTest ElectroHub Kit.

Did you calibrate the ESCs, especially after replacing one?

Is the flight controller mounted the right way up and pointing towards the front?

I did not calibrate the ESCs since i had another on order, i had hoped that i could toss in a replacement and i could at least get it off the ground :)

the flight controller is as close to the center of gravity as i could find, it is lettering side up with the big arrow pointing in the direction of the front forks.

I will try to calibrate the ESC's tomorrow when the replacement arrives and i Hope that resolves the issue! I am super excited to get this thing flying, I purchased a Gymbal for my Mobius cam as well as a Fatshark FPV headset just for this build!

I wanted to get it off the ground and fly around a bit before i put any of that on.

Thanks for the reply!

yupp, you have to re-calibrate when you mess with things.. just the nature of the beast.

Calibrating the ESCs makes them learn what's the highest / lowest "throttle" values are - with "throttle" being the output of the flight controller.

If you add one that hasn't been calibrated it might start turning the motors a while later than the others.
