Numbers 1 and 4 are about the benefits I see here for me. I hardly use emojis in my posts here lol. :Do_O:p Crap :poop:, ya caught me!

I know some people really fight for those first comments on a video. Me, not so much, BUT I think it's cool to do that for the community and those that want to partake in that. And on a similar note, keep doing the social media LIVE stuff. I have caught you all a time or two when you went live on Instagram..very neat! And I think additional perks like coupon codes, etc. is cool too.

I think some people really would benefit from all the perks of this service, so I say try it out and see what happens. If it don't work, it don't work. You'll still have supporters regardless.

While I do see some benefit for myself, I probably won't be able to participate right off the bat. With our new baby, money has been tight and I'll probably save my money to support you guys in other ways. Maybe when things turn around, I might try it for a little while.

Thanks so much for the kind words and the feedback basslord! Also congrats on the NEW BABY!!! shoot me a pic on a PM, would love to see the new little one!
Also, totally appreciate the support and for all you guys do! Keep being awesome!

Blessings,
Stefan

I personally don't see an issue with it. As long as your not withholding content from your normal fans.
Bring back your bi-weekly videos!! Please!!!!!!!! I miss the good ole days were we could rely on Monday/Wednesday video releases....

Nope! Not withheld AT ALL! ;) Normal videos are gonna be coming out(little bit different with holidays) but at least 1 per week or more ;)

Blessings my dude!

There are many who passionately support FliteTest and will never be in a position to enjoy the benefits of programs such as the previous founders program and now this new U Tube drive. Those people do it out of a passionate belief in the initial values espoused and not commercialism.

FT is a commercial organisation of course and all wish them well and commercial success but such programs can leave some feeling excluded for financial or even geographical reasons! I hope it does not cause any ill feelings for those who will be excluded from such offerings in the future.

It is good that you are pushing the reach of FT may it give you a vastly increased membership and customer base.

Have fun!

Not sure what "extras" were in the works for the support but I will say this.

Would it not benefit FT better to do a patreon account and link all their videos to it for fund raising?

That way people who could afford a subscription could easily do one and others like myself could contribute here and there. Just dont start spamming in videos like others have.

I stopped watching every Bardwell video after he started his pateon and went full on beg mode. Same with Stu on uavfutures. Bad enough dealing with googles intrusions but when they started cutting in with their own commercials that was it for me.

I used to be very loyal and watch every video as well as point people to their pages. When they started segregating and excluding people over extra money beyond ads i stopped so they lost me and whom ever else I would have sent their way.

DONT GO THAT ROUTE please.

I would NOT recommend Patreon for ANY sort of fundraising. There's some really shifty stuff going on with Patreon right now. A fellow podcaster of mine was hit for over $2000 worth of charges when someone reversed their donations via Patreon - things that had been donated 6 months to a year earlier - and he was hit with refunding it all back.

Everything comes to he/she who waits - so they say. Can you do a "get Youtube" and post it here for us mere mortals? I don't want to have to wait.

yeah when the founders perks came out I really wanted to help out but didn't have the funds so I felt a bit left out.
I was in the same boat. Every time I thought I had enough money to cover the founders donation and be able to live.... big bill came up. So I look at this as my way to get in on some of the founders fun.

Just saw the new video describing the membership again and something caught my attention that frustrates me. I now see that there are behind the scenes videos and q and a sessions that are behind a paywall? At the beginning of the video it is said that nothing will change, but what I got from it is I will never see another q and a or vlog again without having to pay $60 a year. Each year I spend hundreds of dollars on the Flite Test store, attend their Flite Fest events, and show them off to everyone I meet at my flying club. Now I have to pay to see videos that describe what’s going on at the company that I have supported so much? Flite test constantly says that it appreciates all of the people who support Flite test, but now they are asking their community to pay another fine just to watch videos that are most important to the people who really support the community. Essentially, the core members of the community are being asked to give even more.

Ok guys, I know $5 a month is a lot, but they aren’t doing anything different than they have been for the last year I’ve been following them. I am considering joining as I really enjoyed their vlogs and I can save from their coupons. It is frustrating fb to many of us, including me, but hey - they have been giving us free plans for the last 7 years and have been doing so much for the community. I don’t want to pay the money, but it’s for a good cause, and it’s tough for the ft guys to keep on going with the continuing restrictions and such. Good luck guys!

That’s a great way to put it, and $60 isn’t too big of a problem, but the main issue I see with it is that they are withholding the most important videos to some. The ones who would benefit from the vlogs and q&a videos are the ones who support the community the most. Asking the core members of the community to donate even more is a bit insulting in my opinion. When this first came out it was right after the edge water campaign and they have had a sponsor for nearly every video they make. I just think that releasing q&a videos and vlogs would have been a great way to show appreciation for the community but instead they put it behind a paywall.

Yeah, looking at it that way it makes sense. Those are the vids that is as huge ft supporters like the most, whereas the vids they put out right now really target new audience. If you are one of the ft guys reading this, don’t think I’m putting you down at all - I love your content and I know as a producer, you have to draw in new audiences. But I do miss the old style of videos.

Just interested in content and coupons here. Price is a little high. At 2.50 per month, I would not hesitate.

Hello Josh and FliteTest Team,

here is my opinion on Memberships I shared with you on Youtube already:

Puh, a paid service is not even my problem, my problem is the simple fact that a good portion of that money goes to MisterGreed aka Google aka we take your data without permission aka we screw you over again and again with things like Coppa, dubious demonitazions and so on.
What you guys should have done is to create Patreon or something similar where pretty everything goes to the creator. LinusTechTip's strategy with FloatPlane is pretty nice as well.
And there are tons of better options than Youtube Membership to finance your content like Patreon, Vimeo(higher Videoquality), cocoscope (even adult(ish) is allowed there), Twitch, or a mailservice etc.
I am not willing to support you while Youtube aka YouCrap gets a cut and especially not for the recent type of content.

Cheers (from Germany)
Nik

I also asked a bunch of people on Facebook and their response wasn't that positive:

I haven’t watched Flitetest in years. Ever since they started doing the ridiculous challenge videos I completely lost interest.

The disappointing thing is the whole service to the YouTube community has dropped. There used to be vlogs 5 days a week as well as the RC car content. Now we only get 1 day a week. There are better ways. I'm disappointed. I have made the choice to step away from flite test because of it. Sorry guys.

They should have called it basically. Alex basically said basically sooooo many times

Good luck FT. Shits going to hit the fan soon enough

all in good fun. I actually joined. They've had a dramatic impact on me getting back in to the hobby.

All this even after we help them purchase the golf through go fund me and i believe they are backing the FAA proposal also

But it comes even worse! A lot of people I know personally or via Social media turned away from FT for multiple reasons but mostly for the fact that it's no longer educational or even experimental (like the EDF Butane Afterburner), we mostly spread over certain other channels (like AllenMoore, Painless360 and Andrew Newton)or Groups (like INAV, Ardupilot on planes etc).

Why do I keep making these comments, suggestions, asking people for their opinion? Because even though I unsubscribed, I still care about FliteTest!
