There is very little copper in a penny. They're mostly zinc. Only 2 or 3% copper since the early 80's.
Yup, we found that out...We melted a (I think it was like 2016) penny in a campfire one time and it was all shiny inside. (We were fighting inflation! JK 😂 😂 😂 )

I remember I heard a story that back in the day people started to do this melting pennies for copper and they were making a good amount of money but eventually metal rims were added to the sides of the coin to prevent people from melting them or something like that. I heard the story from YouTube shorts 😂

Well all about Aeronca Champs! I’ve been on other web sites and still a very few are being built. And several collecting dust. Still in the box or half built. I originally placed an order for the smaller version fourty size but were sold out. They offered the larger 1/4th version for If I remember right $40.00 more. I jumped on the deal, only to find a English President 1/4 scale Champ in a consignment shop in Dayton Ohio. Across from the Air Force Museum. It came with a fibreglass cowl, Got it and still have it. I used the cowl on my AA Industries plane. The two kits are very similar and their is not much difference in the design. I figured some body copied some body. Just way to much similarity in the two kits.AJ

Well I understand their is very little copper in the modern penny. Years ago we use to place coins on Rail road tracks a penny would flatten out to almost a quarter. We used them to balance our model aircraft.

The last time I brought a hamburger I got four new penny's in the change. 2025 dated. I've collected a few of the Lincoln series. That came out in the early 2009. My wife's dad collected several penny's very early years around late 30s and early 40s. I organized his collection she still.has it. I guess destined to the grand kids.AJ
