Doing a little work around house and found some thing interesting. 2"x .125" slats of PVC foam covered in a smooth skin, aka pvc window blinds.

A quick check of Facebook Marketplace reveals a endless supply with pieces up to 7' long and 5" wide for very little money.

It works easily and is very tough. Best of all it should thermoform well. I'm going to find some larger pieces and build a bending jig for an airfoil.

Sample I have is 50mmx3mm and density about 0.51 g/cm³, so heavier than balsa, more like spruce but less dense than birch plywood. Went to Home Depot to look around and was hoping to find some larger pieces and moulding to make a jig. Left disappointed. The larger vertical blinds use a composition that is closer to vinyl flooring and has no rigidity. I had high hopes because of the low price. PVC foam board is generally fairly expensive.
