Thanks man but that's okay. It won't have any tabs, is shorter, and has addition bbq holes. I'll just make it from scratch tonight, should only take a few minutes.

Did you get a chance to make the power pod?

Updated plans - version 1.2 added and include the 800mm pod + slight tweaks to the fuse for improved cooling.

Video is almost done but I have some bad news. My nnChipmunk 800 is no more. I was flying at a pretty rocky field recently and while coming in for a landing I clipped a rock with my wing and the force ripped my entire wing off. Talk about coming in hot!

I have rebuilt! She will fly again!

Nice! I ordered some more too, trying some of the vinyl tape this time. It's a little heavier but the colors are really deep and matte finish. The glossy looks good but some designs need a different look.

Nerdnic, first let me say keep doing what your doing. I have made and flown the nnChipmunk, I am currently making two 800mm Chipmunks and I have the nnA-10 on my list for next build.

My question I have for you is, on the 800mm Chipmunk how and where do you place your battery? did you cut a hatch under the canopy? Can you post pictures of how and where you place your battery? I am 90% done with the Chipmunks and would like to know this info before I complete. Hopefully I can get this info and finish in time to take them to the field this weekend.

Thanks,
BDPgraphics

Hi there,

I have only run my 800 chip with a hatch under the canopy so far. I have flown with a few different set ups. The NTM 1800kv motor and a 70g 1100kv motor on 3s. With the NTM I use a 2200 4s and it sits under the canopy, mostly aft. (Check the beginning of my speed run video and you can see the battery in on launch) The 70g motor has been run with a 1000-2200 3s and those sit up in the nose closer to the firewall.

I'd post some pictures but I actually lost the 800 to a pretty bad crash a few weeks ago, after my first crash something got messed up on my elevator and she just decided to not pull up anymore.

Post some pics if you can of your builds!

I got the super chipmunk under way and can't wait to get it done. Hopefully I will get more done this weekend and be able to fly it sooon.

All these new builds are awesome to hear about. I'm glad the nnChip is getting some more attention, everyone who flies one just loves it.

Okay thanks for the info, I created a hatch under the canopy just wanted to make sure it was what you recommended since it was not indicated on your plans. I built two 800mm Chipmunks, one is running a NTM 26-36 1400kv on 4s and the other will have two power pods. One power pod will carry a Turnigy D2822 1400kv on 3s (for my wife) and when I fly it I will have a Turnigy D3530 1400kv on 3s. I have attached some pics of them along with my FT Mustang with Red-Tail paint scheme I dedicated to my wife. (only thing to keep me building and flying without the complaints, LOL!)

Heres my nnChipmunk. Made a hatch where the canopy is at to get to the electronics. Just need to mount my powerpod. Still havent decided if I should glue the powerpod in or make it swappable

Anybody put wheels on their nnchipmunk? I meant to add wheels to the wing while I was building it but forgot to put a little piece of wood inside the wing like the mustang build. Trying to figure sonething that will be strong enough. Any ideas?

Great work! I've not put landing gear on my 800 but I did on the full size. It worked really well.
