Hi everyone! I decided to try my hand at designing a chuck glider. As you can tell by now, the subject is a P-51 Mustang. The design took me about 30 minutes to put together and another 30 to build. A few community members helped me beta test the design and I'm really happy with how it came out.

BUILD

1. Cut out pieces.
2. Glue (2) USD Quarters and BBQ skewer in nose.
3. Glue on side doublers.
4. Crease wing on center line.
5. Glue in wing and use guide to set proper dihedral amount.
Your wing should look like this.
6. Glue in horizontal stabilizer and go fly!

I love little chuck gliders like this one here, I made a similar one using a 3 view printed on a 8.5x11" sheet of paper and a penny for nose weight. I might have to build this one for a kid near me who loves watching me fly my planes at the field by my house, it's his favorite plane.

It definitely is a great option for kids. Simple to build and they love throwing it around.

Do you think you could power it with a light setup?

I think so. It is very stable and I imagine would fly like a mighty mini.

I'm thinking 450 mah 2s ,3100kv 1306 ,3.7gram servos and a 4x4 bullnosed prop.

It would have a very light wing loading so it should be a great flyer.

I couldn’t agree more but I’m working this week lol, my only free day is Thursday and I’m using it to see one of the two flying B-29’s with some friends.
