how will you reinforce it? that fuse break was pretty bad.

Oh it was ugly. My RX, BEC, and battery went flying, 70ish feet into the grass. Fanned out in different directions and distances.. Took 45 minutes to find everything, haha.

If you take a look at the beta 2 plans sample there are two bbq skewers now in the fuse. I'm not sure if this will be enough yet but it's a good next step.

That reminds me of the time me and my friend where throwing one of my deceased DTFB DLGs and the wing came of on a really hard launch of mine... Sending the fuselage up and over like an arrow from a bow a good 80 yards into the field. Such a satisfying smack as it impacted!

The wing is incredibly strong. Right now I have no worries about it failing.

Ok man you now caught my eye. I was gonna build a baby baron but now theses look fun.. So I am scrounging up electronics to hope to have work. so I was wondering if you think this will work. I have A 3.7V 380mAh 1s from my husban x4. I have 8 gram servos , and Corona Synthesized Receiver 6Ch 72Mhz sorta micro recover but its 59 grams. Although I may have to use my 500 2s 2c bater because looks like my receivers operating voltage is Voltage 4.8V~6.0VDC . Would it be ok just doing rudder and elevator or do I need ailerons? I then have for my bater to radio transition a old Jeti model JES 05 micro ESC. Note this is from a nicad Nickel metal hydride minor park flyer from back in the day but it should work I would think.. What do you all think?

It will work without ail. Your rx is a little heavy but won't be a deal breaker. The extra weight just means potentially decreased flight time.

Should be just north of 300g when it's all done. That puts it about 10.5 ounces. 'Ideal' weight for a DLG is 9 ounces. I think once this is a proven build you could easily reduce weight by not using hot glue and swapping to 5g servos and lose the BEC. Should easily get to 9 ounces.

Who likes waiting for the weekend? Maiden has been moved to today (Friday)!!

I had to make some last minute changes to the ail to allow for full air brakes. Since the changes weren't planned initially.. She ain't so pretty anymore. But hey, this is a beta, right?

I'm all set with a launch mix, throttle stick controlled air brakes(freaking sweet), and ail/rudder mix. Glide test and trim might take a bit but I plan to get as many full power throws in as I can to really stress test the beta 2 build. I'll be testing during lunch so time is limited.

More to come soon :)
