Being a slope ship the tow-hook on the Guppy is actually a little further forward than usual. For slope soaring the idea is to get the plane moving fast Vs gaining altitude, so it can get out over the ridge or whatever. So no, that wasn't the problem. Turns out the CG was way too far back. After that flight we added a large lump of lead to the nose & she flew much better. I just had to post that launch. That was one wild ride. Props to Roger the pilot for keeping her in the air.
