I haven't personally used the Lite, but I have probably a dozen regular Auras and they've been great in anything I've had them in. But, the "weirdest" is my Freewing Gripen so I haven't really gone totally wacky with them.

I'd say it's worth a shot. Even the $14 stabilizer from Valuehobby made a huge difference in my foamboard Rafael.

EDIT: I set my gains to knobs so I can adjust on the fly. Makes tuning way easier.
Awesome thanks! My last oblique wing had some stability issues at higher sweep angles; it crashed at flite fest because of this. I figured I'd see if a stabilizer would help the next one.

Started a new build! It’ll be my first flerken (boomin version) and so far I love the design. I’ve always enjoyed building low-poly planes and this one has been no exception. I ran out of hot glue so I have a box of 85 sticks coming from Amazon tomorrow - should last me a little while haha.

I have the regular flerken, its a blast! My only issue with it was that I had the CG on the marks when it likes to fly a little behind them.

Nice. Boomin Flerken is alot of fun. After many flights I have noticed the wings starting to get weak at the connection point. I believe due to taking impact from landing, gear works great but no shocks, so the wings absorb it. Next one I make I will put some spars in the wings to compensate. I will use Nerdnics aluminium spar design (modified to fit of coarse) to solve this. If you haven't got too far you might try that (or something similar). With that sat it did take a couple dozen flights to start to show the wear on the wings, but mine will fail soonish I believe. Just something to think about.

I'm planning on making this a hand launch and belly lander, so I'm guessing that will put most the impact strain on the fuselage. I am a little concerned at the complete lack of spar through the fuselage though, I might see about designing a 3D printed spar to go in there.

Now that i think of it. I have some skid plates already designed for the Flerken. I did not end up using them because I went with landing gear instead. I will be home soon and check. If so i will share the files here.

Here they are if you want them. I went off measurements, so if they are off, let me know and i can fix them. Also, I renamed them "Flerken skid plates" on OnShape, so you can find them there as well if you want to change anything yourself. They come out to 18 grams total weight so should be no issue with the Flerken. Make sure to put the glue on the Flerken and not the plates first. If you use them, and they work, let me know and i will share them in the resource here. If you were not already, i do suggest differential thrust. At 200% mine does great flat spins.

Are the front and rear the same? I'm not seeing how they attach, but I'm sure it'll make more sense once I've built the fuselage. I'm definitely planning on adding differential, too much fun to be had!

The front has just a slightly different angle at the top to fit the front nose. They just hot glue to the bottom of the plane. Here is a picture of something similar I do to the Sea Duck. Different but same concept. They work great to protect on belly landings since i mostly land on asphalt. Just remember to put the hot glue on the plane first and not the 3d printed part (the print will warp badly if you add the glue to it first).

That makes more sense, thanks. I'll print them off and try them out

Was scrolling on Facebook when I saw an ad for this 2 channel plane. I needed some parts for my micro planes so decided to get it. Only issue is it didn’t come with a battery…anyone know which electronics I can tear apart to get a small 150 mAh 1s lipo ?

Hello all, have any of you heard of the channel called RC plane tech? Apparently YouTube removed it because it violated community guidelines? The guy makes videos about building RC planes. Does anyone know what guidelines may have been broken? Or is this another case of the clanker screwing up again?

proly the clanker screwing up. haven't heard of the channel, but it happens a lot.
better that extreme than the other I suppose.
I got rejected once cause my camera picked up a kid on the other side of the soccer field.

Never heard of this channel before but if the WHOLE channel got removed then he must have screwed up pretty bad.....
