Help! Old Thunder Tiger Gull 1800 conversion

I was wrong. It’s an 8X4.5. But still my park 370 powered the glider fine. Slapped soared way up night over the dunes three times. But the motor burnt out. Also weight is not and issue. I had to put at least 100g of nose weight in her to get the cg right.

This motor would probably do well (if it fits in the fuse) on 3s or 4s, but you'll need a 50a esc for 4s.

The Motor is here!!!! Ok. I am running a 3s is a 30a ESC enough? I don’t think I will ever need full power and could limit it to 75%. Or I have a 40a I can throw in.

Quick look at the specs, and the motor is rated to 45amps. If your planning a 9 or 10 inch prop, I'd say go with the 40amp esc. I am known to err on the side of caution. I put 30amp esc's into 12amp applications because I'm just sick and tired of burning stuff up!

I changed it up to the 40. This motor is perfect. More than needed.

Thank you for your help. The Thunder Tiger Gull 1800 Sailplane flew perfectly! On a 2200 3s I was able to fly and glide for over 30 minutes. There was a good updraft!
