Oooppssss!!! I was trying to reflash Flysky firmware onto my FS-i6x from the opeI6x firmware I did have on it, and for some reason it seems to have bricked! When I go to turn it on it just shows a blank screen, but when I bridged the pads on the board which force it into DFU mode it connected so i tried flashing again...And it still didn't work..And now ti won't even connect that way!😭😭😭 Guess I NEED a new radio now!😂😂 (BTW, I wouldn't mind being able to fix it, as I don't really have the funds at this point..So if you have any suggestions... @LitterBug?)

Aw man that's not fun. If that ever happened to me I would get the FT Pocket radio ( I mean it has tetris on it).

Maybe an old used FrSky X9D?

If you can't get DFU mode, that is a problem. If you can, you should be able to flash your old version back on. Double check your cable.
Well, I was able too....Until I accidentally pulled up one of the solder pads! (I have been bridge it with solder lately and its a super cheap pad...So when I give it a gentle tug it pull up!😆😆 (Thankfully my brother is letting me use his until I can get a new one)

I am also running openi6x. To update it, you need to hold the two inner trims down while turning it on. The solder pads are only for the initial loading. Check the wiki for details. I use the Edgetx buddy webpage for upgrading. When you put it into dfu mode with the trims, the screen will be blank. That is OK.

Yeah, I know👍 It just doesn't turn on the screen even after the flash and the trims are not being held in.....

So are you using the trims to put it into dfu mode?
Yup, I put it in DFU, flashed, and for some reason it won't boot on with the Flysky firmware that it was supposed to have flashed....I think because I used the firmware from when I first flashed openTX instead of just using new firmware from Flysky, that that is what caused some problems...

Okay. Can you flash openi6x on it?
Hmmm...I never tried..At this point the two pads you cross have been soldered on too many times and the ones is peeling up and about to break off.......(From what I remember, it no longer will popup as a DFU target when I plug it in even after the pads are crossed....)

Interesting. I don't think you need to solder them together, but if you need to maybe just try jumping it with a wire or something. Do you still have it?

Yeah, I know, it was just hard to hold something on it repeatedly and the pads were where down..Yes, I do still have it....I think its in a pile of pieces on the work bench!🤣🤣 (Kinda just want to upgrade to a better radio)
