Paperless XPS/Depron types vs. Adams Ready Board common for FT builders?

It seems that foam board construction has rather ignored the old boat building technique of using long narrow planks in favour of having to physically form sheet panels into double curves.
It should be noted that with long planks the glue joints to its neighbor are in shear rather than in tension as is the case with individual panels. A planked structure is intrinsically stronger and stiffer for the same weigh of foam material.
That's the technique that @Mr Man uses in his Radjet and Hotliner and I would say it is much stronger than MS.

i can't answer your questions, but thank you for the good wishes, and all the best in retirement!
You're quite welcome, sir! I'm gonna take some time to convalesce, try to adjust to my wife making me go to Target with her & take time to take care of her & our last two rugrats at home that are in HS & the homestead. After 30 years of some of the worst punishment to my body...even after being triathlon shape, which I pretty much to be due to the MOS I was in. But, man, is civvy life quite a major adjustment! However, this is the best hobby & being part of a large/active club with outstanding leadership. Good fellowship activities with other men at the field & outside of its aviation & community activities is great therapy. I pray that y'all are well & having as much fun as possible when it's available to be had! I really enjoy this site & FT community a lot & the scratch building is very rewarding to me. I really look forward to y'all help & guidance since I need that more than I can offer in terms of advice. Even after a few years with with box stock foamies. Peace!

In Christ,

My gawd, being forced to shop at Target should be against the Geneva convention. Have you noticed all the lady stuff is blocking easy access to the store? Man stuff is usually back in the farthest corner, and if your lady is like mine, you cant go there unescorted because you could buy something.

Ask all you want, it is why everyone is here, it's what we do.

But, their isn’t much for males who needs tools & other manly stuff. Not trying to be funny & definitely not trying fan that political flame, but still true. At least I can get her to come with me to Menards, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Tractor Supply or Rural King with me because they have the huge garden sections & Rural King sells ducklings & chicklets & bunnies & cute t-shirts for farm wives among other clothing. I’m happy at Wally or Meijer, but Target is not my kinda store because they just don’t cater much to men with the lack of tools & other stuff we generally gravitate to. Very clean & organized, though. We have multiples of the other stores I just mentioned so I’m just as happy going to them. But, I do love my wife very much & I go where she orders me. I think that was even in our wedding vows. I especially go to Dollar Tree with her because I buy all their cases of 20 DTF they have in the back before it gets parceled out on display. If you didn’t know this…always ask them for the cases of 20 they have in the back. 2x case per 20 is $50USD. A LOT CHEAPER & EASIER TO COME BY THAN DEPRON. OK, Enough about silly Target haha.

Now back to foam & football.

Yes, sir. We had seven DT I think, or, should I say “The $1.25 Store,” now & we just an open another. Some of the corners are crinkled as to be expected from shipping & being handled. In better shaped than my UPS packages a lot of times , but no worries. They just opened another store that was a huge Party City store that failed & remodeled it. We are also getting one more in the works. I only get them when I happen to be there with her & I get two cases per visit every time I happen to go with her. It’s $50 even for both cases.REMEMBER: if you need that much or don’t want to run low, ALWAYS ask the manager to check the back store room for unopened cases, or at least undisplayed cases with the 20 sheets per box. Depending where you live they might not be nicest employees that will pitch a tude, however, I’ve not run into that I can recall even when they’re having problems restocking shelves on busy days & lack of staff. Hey, that’s life everywhere. Perhaps an unneeded expense considering the cost of good & services these days, but i have my half unit’s approval. And I’m tired of the online or rarer local hobby shop box stock foamies. I’m very particular even about crawling a maybe $100 FT or simple build, but much cheaper than a $600 1.5m eflite Mustang. I can crash at my club’s FRIA the city donated to us with about 200’ish acres & they even paved us a 400’ asphalt runway adjacent to a no longer used part of the city golf course. They cut the grass, but we’re responsible for 200’ immediately surrounding the runway & our shelter. Only downside is is we are restricted to 400’ altitude & FAA no flight regulations during home college football days due to the 2 miles proximity of the university owned airport & stadium. How blessed is are we!!! This hobby is the best & community of bonding & fellowship with our club members along with their families & friends & getting visitors that are curious about the hobby & will potentially join. Just tell to shut up sometimes. I can hack it with the simple pleasure of mini aviation as I call it.
