Hi Folks,

I was just given this plane by a mate in Perth:

He did have some history on it in an email, but couldn't find it. All we know is that the plans are from around 1914, and that there is a current competition running with this 'class' of aircraft.

It's an old free-flight model (now adapted to electric), with only a rudder and a (very) small elevator on the right-hand side of the horizontal stabilizer.

If anyone could please help me find out what this plane is, and any more info about it, I would be greatly appreciative.

Cheers (and thanks).

looks more like a 1940 type - byt built today with plastic coating.
I guess that the competition is to get as high as possible in no more than 4 minutes, turn off the motor and land after exactly 4 minutes from when the motor was cut, at a mark on the ground. Class : OT-RC.
Try http://www.antiquemodeler.org/ (down at the moment). or the british http://www.sam35.org/magazine/mag.aspx.
I bet there is an australian page to. The competitions are very popular.

The tail section and the wings themselves a very similar to the Modelhob Mistral, although the fuselage is different, and the wings are flush on the fuselage.

I think that you have to find your lost mail.
There are houndreds of similar models in that periode.
I found the Zoot Suit by George Fuller to have the most similar fin of about 10 plans i looked at.

Looks like the Zoot Suit might be a winner, Pgerts. Has all the correct elements and even the wing pylon looks correct.

Seems there should be an Elfin diesel in the front .........
This plane was from 1954 but the plane was developed during years from something that might has come from the 1940 era.
