Am new to this and have been collecting parts prior to making my first swappable (the old fogey) but would just like someone to cast their eyes over my electrics before I solder everything together.
My battery is small and has male JST connectors. I'm not wanting to use a female on my ESC (or my charger) as I think that the bigger batteries come with female XT60 connectors. I was going to create a female JST to male XT60 adapter that I can use on my ESC and charger. I can see that you can buy them but did'nt see the point if I was buying the plugs anyway.
Between my motor and ESC and I will put some 3.5mm bullet connectors, the rounded ends near the motor with the larger sleeve around them. Does this sound right? I'll add some heat shrink to all my connections of course.
The final part which will sound stupid is the receiver, does that look right? I'm getting the turnigy 9x (the easy moddable old one) whenever that gets delivered.
I won't fully charge the battery until I'm about to fly as well, these lipos scare me. At the moment I'm keeping them in a tin, unsealed, in the middle of my garage. I'll be getting a big bag of sand when I take the dog for a beach walk shortly and will build some sort of simple self extinguishing area for them.
