Prop adapter shaft too short

Hi, I built my first foam board plane, the Old Foggy. I ordered a Suppo 2208/17 combo kit with esc, props and servos from my local hobby shop. When mounting the prop, the prop adapter shaft is too short to allow the prop nut to screw onto the shaft. Is this a common problem, do I have to shave the prop hub down to expose more shaft, or can you get longer prop adapters? Thanks!

That sounds a bit odd. I have never come across this problem - ever!
A picture of the adaptor with the prop might be helpful.
In principle shaving anything of a prop is not a good idea.

You can gerry away with taking some off the center hub. I'd set it flat on a sheet of sand paper and wOrkney it down from the top and bottom just a bit. A couple mm should be more than enough.

That must be a particularly short prop adaptor!
I would agree you can remove some of the extra length of the prop hub without any detriment to the prop strength but if I were you I would only take the excess material from the front. It is the longer anyway and that way the rear face is not touched so it will remain true and square ensuring the prop also runs true.

Get a different prop with a more standard centre thickness or if you buy a new prop of the same type you would need to repeat the whole prop adjustment procedure again.

This assumes that you will eventually damage the prop you currently have.

Find a more suitable prop and get a couple as props are always failing due to impact and transport damage. OHH! I forgot Hangar Rash as well.

HobbyKing has many props to chose from if you can't find one any where else.
