Thank you for the video! And I have a few ideas that Im looking into, but first need to get the A Tail flying, and hooked up with some FPV gear. Im between a KK2 and ArduPilot FCB, and the Specktrum 6 and 7 channel controller. About to purchase my props and motors/ harnesses.

So I ended up getting 750 kv motors: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=22507 And am unsure what props to get, and if it will lift my 1.2 kg frame and components (577g frame, and about 800 grams in electronics)

I dont know what size battery to get still as I am still not to sure about batteries and how they work, and I was thinking of 10 x 4.5 blades, but again, Im unsure what will work now I changed the motors.

Thanks again!

Use the 10x4.5 or 4.7 but I'd recommend getting the short shaft version if they weren't out of stock... Don't forget the accessory pack either, it has the prop adapter and x-mount.

Okay, thank you very much! I think Ill get 2 2200 mAh 3s 25c batteries, and from what calculations Ive been using with the battery, and 1700g for my weight, and the NTM 750 motors, according to eCalc, motor at hover would be needing more then 90% throttle, am I wrong in that calculation? I did notice it was for the 2836, and not the 2830A which I purchased. Just curious, electronics are not my strong suit.

I will be purchasing a Dx6i tomorrow with the Rx, and have purchased the following:

MultiWii: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=39478
NTM 28-30A: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=22507
ESC: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=46306
NTM Prop kit: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=24527
Thanks again!

I'm sorry, I guess I was thinking of another thread where he was running 4S. On 3S, these motors can take 12" props. Plug that in and fine tune the pitch to get the lift you'd like for yours. Again, I'm sorry about the mixup!

No problem! I think I might pick up a 3s and 4s battery, and a set of 10 and 12x4.5 props. I dont know how the 2836 compare to the 2830A, but it looks like with the 36 at least I would have problems with the flight characteristics. with a 10 inch prop. But, Xuzme, have you had, or know of anyone with experience, with a rather heavy system and these motors in combo?

Thank you again!

I used the 2830s 900KV's on a quad with 10" props with no problems, but it wasn't as heavy as yours. It was an Anycopter frame with a KK2 and 3000mAh bat. No extras on that one, but I didn't fly it long before I pulled it apart to build a tri to test a prototype tail pivot one of our members had designed...
You'll be fine. Just test your amp draw so you don't kill any of your electronics prematurely. I was using 30A ESC's on mine...

Okay, good to know! I have 30A ESC on mine as well, and I think Ill see what works and what not with the prop and battery combos. Im shooting for 3000-4500mAh batteries, and from what Ive seen on the eCalc, looking at just around 10 min of flight time. This will be my first Multi platform, and I hope to move up to a hex, later on, kinda as funds become avaliable!

Thank you everyone for all the help! Definitely wouldn't be as close to a (hopefully) flying frame as I am right now!

Picking up the DX6i tomorrow from the local hobby shop, little pricier than I was wanting, but it should be a good package deal with Tx/Rx. Pretty excited!

For your batteries; get as high a C discharge rating as you can budget. 40C or greater is a good figure for multirotor batteries.

Good to know! Ive been watching the FT segment on batteries and transmitters. Best part is I spent less then I figured on the components, and a little more on a 5000mAh battery (could only afford a 20c, but will look at purchasing a 40c+ in the near future), and Still came in a little shy of what I figured, so I think Ill be purchasing a Spektrum Tx/Rx this afternoon, likely a 6 channel. I figure any videography I want to do later, Ill have a second person operate on a separate Tx.

Now assembly begins!
