quick question about tx/rx

I'm completely new to fpv, and am just currently looking around.
I don't know how i would search the answer to this, so i kinda got lazy and just decided to ask here since everyone here is so helpful.

are the tx/rx proprietary? kinda like how dsm2 only works with dsm2, or how flysky module only works with flysky rx...

yes. DSM2 and DSMX work together (backwards compatible). But the rest are pretty much proprietary. You must change modules to make them work with each other and not all radios are module compatible.

oops. i didn't clarify.

i meant for fpv. the tx and rx for fpv. how do i know which rx and tx will work with what?
