You should NOT plug the battery directly into the RX the way it is in the picture. The RX needs to have 4.6 to 8V on the + pin. You would have supplied less than 4.2v to the + pin and possibly 8+ volts to the signal pin. The latter could fry the RX.

The RX needs to be powered by a BEC which is usually found on the Motor ESC. Since you are using a 2S battery, you could possibly power it directly from the battery power lead, but not the balance lead.

Thanks! I think this is now correct and I do see the light that changes from flashing 1x, 2x, 3x. But not binding yet. I have radiomaster pocket, selected Type FrSky X, subtype D16, but binding doesn’t happen I don’t think for either 2 or 1 flash (though after trying with 2 flashes it did make a lot of noise, but the controls don’t move anything on the plane.

The R88 is not an ELRS receiver. Not sure how relevant that video will be.

Should be as simple as holding the bind button down on the RX while you plug the battery in,
Go into the radio and select [BND]
You can select either option for telemetry.

It should chirp a few times and then connect.

Are you sure your Pocket is MultiProtocol and not ELRS?

Should I hit bind when light blinks once, twice, or 3 times?

Not sure why this didn't post on my previous message, I thought it was corrected before I hit save.

2 blinks is what you want

I’m trying this again and now no light comes on on the receiver at all. I had picked the battery into the charger to recharge it and not sure if that was the wrong thing to do.
