I tried to update my Radio Master TX16S from Edge v2.7.? to the current v2.11.2 by USB via Buddy. The update went well, everything looked like it worked. But my Tx was a brick, when I tried to power on the lights, 1-6, would sweep a couple times & stop on 1, as normal. But nothing else, everything was dark, it was a brick. I tried holding T1/T4 together while powering on, same behavior, sweep, stop on 1, dark.

A friend of mine encouraged me to contact RM customer service, which I did. The reply was to remove the main battery & the cion cell inside, let it set for a few minuets, to allow an internal clock to reset, then retry. Also make sure the main battery was above 6v. No joy, which I reported to RM. The reply was to remove both batteries again, let is set a few minutes and update via USB, with no batteries in it. The Tx would be powered by USB and update once more. Reinstalled the main battery, but still no joy.

At that point I had pretty much given up hope, thinking that the motherboard went bad. But I tried once more, no batteries, but this time I installed Edge v2.8.5 and it worked. My Tx was alive. I again tried to update to the current and bricked it. I tried updating to v2.9.4, it worked. When I tried v2.10.0, bricked it. Went back to v2.9.4 and tried updating to current via the SD card. And it worked.

I have no idea what changed between v2.9 & v2.10 but something was preventing me from updating via USB. But the SD card update worked.

What did you do to solve the issue, @Merv ?

I remember depending on if you were on a early version, it would need to be updated to the next version before being updated to the latest. But I can't find that info now. I was thinking I saw it in a Joshau Bardwell vid a while back.
