RC RADIO SCAM ?

If radiomaster is so good why have I never seen anyone in my field use it ? Everyone uses a spektrum or frsky radio....
A lot of the easiest to fly beginner planes are from Horizon Hobby and come either RTF or BNF with a Spektrum receiver and Spektrum also tends to have really good documentation which makes setting up rates on a new plane with both a Spektrum radio and receiver really easy - and some of the newer stuff will even set the rates in the radio automatically when it recognizes the BNF receiver. And once you've started with Spektrum a lot of the time people want to stay with what they're familiar with. Frsky might be more specific to your field - I think exactly one person uses it where I fly. I think there's also an element of irrational distrust of the Radiomaster stuff where people look at it and go you're going to lose signal and crash without really having a reason for it.

Personally, I've been flying with a Radiomaster TX16S with a multimodule and it's a great transmitter. It talks to my remaining Spektrum stuff from when I used Spektrum, but I mostly use Flysky receivers since they're half the price of the Spektrum stuff and in my experience more reliable now. There's one corner of the field where people lose planes somewhat regularly to loss of signal or interference and the TX16 + FS-IA6B combo in most of my planes seems immune to it. Pretty much the only downside is that the setup is slightly less intuitive, but on the other hand, the Radiomaster stuff is more capable when it comes to mixes and I've actually come to prefer it by a fair bit.

Yes and it depends sort of on what the person is flying...I have observed a direct correlation of what radio a person uses depends on what rc plane they are flying .....the people with large turbine rc planes almost always use a Frsky radio or a Jeti radio but sometimes......SOMETIMES I see somebody using a graupner radio....BUT if I see someone flying a small edf jet they always have a Spektrum radio.....

A lot of rc people hate radiomaster and jumper for some reason.

And then there is me with my Jumper T20S and my foamboard Su-30 with a pusher prop 🙏

And if the person has a rc helicopter then they will 100% be using a mikado radio.

Oh and if the person is flying a super fast rc turbine jet they will be using the largest radio known to mankind (and the most expensive one aswell) and they will have a crazy superiority complex !

a lot of good us vs them tx threads over at rc groups, if you like that sort of thing
I have seen a lot of people over there in rc groups using anything but radiomaster as a lot of them dont wanna risk losing their 10k + airplane because of a stupid radiomaster. And I would say this is valid if u guys ever see me flying a jet that costs anymore then 2k u wont catch me dead using as jumper or radiomaster to fly that plane !

Radiomaster is long proven good brand and has one of the lowest latency of a lot of radios because of being Elrs and has one of the longest ranges besides TBS crossfire.

Dont tell this to me. Tell this to that one guy who made fun of me for using a "fpv radio" and told me to instead get a frsky radio !

All radio brands at some point have failed. Some are better. Some, not so much. Electronics aren't perfect and stuff happens.
Cheap, expensive, low quality, high quality, etc. They all have their place.

Let's try to not let this thread turn into an iPhone vs Android Cage Match. Although, that kinda sounds fun! ;)
