Ready for Maiden Crash

Okay, it has a small chance of a maiden flight, rather than a crash. But I'm being realistic that my stuff very rarely flies outta my hands on the first try.

Heck, I fought with a bloody Tiny Tutor for a couple of weeks before I got the bugs worked out of that one, and it wasn't a scratch build! 😂

How does it glide? That tends of be a good indication of it will fly well

Seems a tad nose heavy on the very short bed glide. Grass glide when the wind cooperates. 20+ mph right now.

Flew like a Frisbee. Except the RPMs were probably lower. The tail is pretty floppy, and I thought maybe that was causing the spin, so I removed it. I mean, it's only foamboard. RPM tripled! 😂

Your problem is that you need to mount the board vertical(LED down), that's why it spun

I'm guessing the position of the vertical surfaces didn't help too much either - they're all at the front of the plane which means there isn't anything to help keep it tracking straight. I'd try moving those vertical surfaces from in front of the slot to behind it and maybe to the top of the wing (since you want your plane to roll into a yaw and having area above the CG helps with that).

Terchnically speaking, those were supposed to be landing skids to protect the propellers, but I see your point. There was one forward, and two aft for a tripod arrangement.

If you remember what Josh say's, you put the throttle at 1/2 position, chuck it and you want to it fly level. Hence, it it goes nose down, need to cut something off or move battery aft, nose up, add in front or move battery if tail heavy. Concept is 1/2 is level, add power and it climbs, back off some power from center and it glides. Shut off when you are about to land to protect props.

The lighter the plane is, the better. Telnar1236 is right, try to get it even, but you have 2 differential rates and it is powerful. In fact, it sometimes reduces the throttle to allow for a turn. I would suggest starting off getting to fly and then cut and trim.
The one I am working that will fly straight and turn right, but not left, is my SR-71. Still needs tweeking (long nose) and can only experiment when it is calm outside.

If you are going to FF this year and going to enter the contest, get 2 sets and make a 4 engine airplane. Only need 1 transmitter, bind both sets at one time and off you go. Call mine 2 duces.

Contest? Didn't know there was one. 😁 But I will be at FF26! As to this aircraft... I left it sitting on the couch where I'd been working on it, and our 10.5lb feline took a stroll over it. It didn't fair well, so I have started fresh. 🤣 Rest in pieces, circle plane.

Power, hard immediate loop to the right (starboard) side into the ground on half power or less. Repeated several times. 🤔

Props correct. Board vertical with power cord to front of aircraft. Motors in tractor config, blue right, red left, props facing forward and producing great thrust.

I think this board is punch drunk from the Circle plane. 😵‍💫

It flew! Well... sorta. It was a continuous series of loops, but that was progress. The goofy "shallow bowl" created by stripping the paper on top has created a great lifting body. Especially in the nose, under power. 🤣

Any video? I made a gaggle of EZ's and my goal was to get one to loop, never did. Here's my circle. I explored the dihedral angle(number of flights) and finally hit the jackpot.

I made a B2 Spirit(no rudders), if you want to see it fly and build one to take to FF26, I will help you.
