Ok Guys, I am a huge fan of the HO229 ( the actual plane and engineering of it), the kraken seams like a awesome build and I would love to see build plans for it. Just because it is sooooooooo big and sooooooooo unique. Please chime in those that saw it at NEAT 2013. Build build build. Josh, if you kit it they will build it.

Keep up the great work.

it looks awesome, but from what they said they just up sized the plans to 186%.. after that it's adding two power pods.. but what I'd like to do is make the kracken a pusher

That is an epic wing, and I think that it would need some more bracing than the stock FT Versa, so definitely: RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!

A build video outlining the changes would be AWESOME. I love wings like this.:D

Oh, extra points for the first person to paint it in Scott Sigler's GFL (Galactic Football League) Kraken's football scheme. http://scottsigler.com/

RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!!!! I really want to see the plans and more information about this plane! The twin engine platforms great because of the differential thrust control! Plus it would make it ground take offs and landings better with the pods. What I want to see is this thing FPV! I'm sure the footage would be amazing!

I want to keep this at the top of the list for Show Suggestions so I'm gonna bump this up! Really would like more specs as to how they determined the power pod placement and the downward thrust angle, because it looks like they added some modifications to the mounting of the power pods from what I glanced at in the video!

9 sheets!!! Imagine the postage on the "speed" kit!

Would totally build one from plan though . . . assuming I could fit it in my car :O

The Horton 229 is an awesome plane. This is a prop plane though so yeah (I hate parkjets). It would be cool though having a flying wing that was that big. I guess all you would need to do would be blow up the plans. Add carbon fiber or wood to the spar, and either make a power pod with a huge motor, scale up the power pod too, or fugue out placement for it, also add led if you wanted. An edf version would be great though to make a Horton 229!

The Horton was an awesome plane but so is the pusher, prop Northrup 9m

I really want to make one of these with quad elevons, to try out some air brakes and crow mixing. I don't know how it'd fly, and my guess is poorly. It'd be a fun project though.

I have 9 sheets of DTFB right now! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Now all I need is plans, a bigger motor. No, 2 bigger motors, bigger ESC's....<walks away mumbling inventory>

We need the Kraken plans to see how to arrange the parts to efficiently cut out the components. Don't want to waste DTF.

Northrup was an amazing engineer, a man before his time. To be able to get a wing like that to fly before computer controlled surfaces is just unreal!

There is some really good videos on youtube, i think copies of the history channel, on the golden dawn of aerospace engineering.

NAM

oh, and release the Kraken!

Yesterday I saw a billboard that said "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!" ... I probably should have taken a picture of it and shared that.

THANK YOU! Quad Elevons are how I could get rudder functions on my wings! If I pop one set open and leave the other side down, I could have a nice rudder on My Nurflugel.

I can see the Kracken meets the MonsterJet coming in the near future. ;)

Foamboard, 2600KV MonsterJet, 100A ESC, standing by!

Just thought I'd bump this up to see if they would work on this over the weekend and we can see it on Monday or Wednesday next week
