Around 5 years ago I dreamed up a new concept plane design and I opted as I normally do with new ideas to test it as a small chuck glider to see how much merit it has to scale up and convert to RC. Flying Saucers are one of my specialties of which I'll be sharing more of in future threads. You are likely familiar with the plane called the Nut Ball, that was my original concept back in 2004 and it was called the Flying Potato Chip, nothing I considered remarkable but apparently it gained a cult following years later. There is more before and after it that holds more merit you'll see later upon.

This particular concept proved to be amazingly stable, very easy to fly and I'm designing up a larger balsa based version then onto some additional versions with articulating rings. I used Depron for the construction on the prototypes.

The video's are just proof of concept so don't get too critical on their limitations.

amazing! you have a great imagination and eye for what might fly.
Thanks! It's always a good idea to have some foam board or depron on hand just to see if these ideas actually work in the air., A simple chuck glider both tests the design and it shows any bad tendencies up front before deciding to pursue it as an RC plane. The many failed or canceled air-frames that have been done over the years almost always skipped this important step on development.
