Hello!

I am building a small quadcopter, and I have everything together and working, but it refuses to get of the ground . My thoughts are that it might just have too much weight. Could it be a problem with the ESCs? Are the motors too small?

Setup:
Quadcopter Frame-http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/..._Sized_FPV_Multi_Rotor_kit_AR_Warehouse_.html
Quadcopter Motor-http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=2069
Quadcopter Battery-http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...or_Lipo_Pack_For_FPV_Minis_AR_Warehouse_.html
Quadcopter Props-http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...lers_One_Pair_CW_CCW_Black_AR_Warehouse_.html
Quadcopter Flight Controller-http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...th_6050MPU_And_Atmel_644PA_AR_Warehouse_.html
Quadcopter ESCs-http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...Controller_SimonK_Firmware_AR_Warehouse_.html

Even when I am giving it full throttle, it can't lift off the ground. :( Any suggestions?

Thank you guys!:D

WOT and going nowhere
Make sure that all your props are rotating the right way to give you thrust in the right direction.

If it's not lifting off the ground I see weight as really the only barrier here...

I unbuild stuff regularly
just a quick glance over your gear, I don't think weight is a problem as long as you're not trying to carry any camera gear (assuming you are not since it isn't mentioned), but those motors are a bit low in the kv department to make use of such small props... looks like they suggest an 8" prop for them. If that frame won't run 8" props you're probably better off buying motors better suited to a 5 or 6 inch prop, like an 1806 2300kv or 2204 2300kv... I think multistar makes some decent cheap ones that will work out just fine for you.

Ok, thank you guys, I will try a higher KV motor. The props are all spinning in the right direction so I don't think that is the issue.

Yep, props are way too small for those motors. I ran those motors with 8" props on my first quad (before replacing them with 2212 1400kv motors still on 8" props because frankly those motors don't last very long in a quad application for a number of reasons!)

Look for something like an 1806 or 2204 motor at 2300kv to go with the 5" props you've got. You might be able to get 6" props on that frame but it looks like it would be tight. 1806 2300kv's would be pushing it at 6" (I do it on two of mine but know I'm pushing it and watch my motor temps carefully) 2204 2300kv motor will be quite happy with 5" or 6" props. Some people prefer the 5" props as they can change speed quicker but I personally like the kick of the 6" props. If you're doing proximity FPV flying the 5" may work better for you, if you're doing LOS acro I like the 6".
