Semi-scratch build hand launch glider

I was going through David's website and I read through the project Graupner Mini (http://rcexplorer.se/projects/2010/03/graupner-mini-discus-2c/) and I decided to apply the same concept to a hand launch glider from hobbyking. (http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__38745__Hobbyking_Hand_Launch_Free_Flight_Glider_EPO_.html) It was only five bucks and I had all the parts that I would need so I said why not. This is an in progress project, and the first of its kind that I have attempted, I'm only a novice RC-er so I'm not sure how long it will take me, that and I'm a full time student. This is my first thread so let me know what you think.

Pulled out the pieces. Only 4 of 'em.

It was nice to see control surfaces molded into the foam. They'll have to be cut out but now theres no guessing on size/placement.
Cut out the canopy, removed the weight and began carving away.

Used an xacto knife and a soldering iron with an old tip to hollow the fuse.

The BEC was small enough to fit on the underside of the canopy.

and the battery fit nicely

Nothing is glued together yet. I want it to all fit in the box as I return home for winter vacation. I will definitely be working on it more next week.
