I have finished my simple cub and am in for sure need of some bigger wheels. Has anyone found a pretty good wheel thats bigger that the standard 2.75inch? I want my plane to look like it has alaskan bushwheels on it.
I used 3.5 inch Du-bro wheels. If I were to do it again, I'd go for 4 or 4.5 inch tires though. The 3.5 inch were the ones I had on hand at the moment. They work awesome though!

Which type of the Dubro ones do you use? There is one more like styrofoam, and one more rubbery. I really like the rubbery ones, although they are harder to find in hobby shops.

I've got the Dubro inflatables for my 2000mm Beaver, almost a mandatory upgrade IMHO if you're planning on flying such a big plane at an unprepared field. I've got even bigger ones to put on it now! As long as you can keep the weight reasonable, I don't think a guy can have a wheel too big... but I'm a bush plane kind of guy!
yeah... the 4 inch inflatable wheels are 130 grams each, for 260 grams, which is 9 ounces... while many simple cubs with much lighter wheels will end up in the 15-20 ounce range with a battery installed.
