I suspect that you can take your new flying wing design and build it without a motor. To get the center of gravity right and to get some penetration you could keep the larger battery needed for the motor, and even the speed control in order to power your reciever and servos. Perhaps a swappable pod similar to the standard but a little shallower and with a sloped, closed nose.
Glue a large washer or such to the top and bottom of the wing tip and add a section of wood dowl for the finger hold.
This could make a better slope soarer than a conventional discus lqaunch glider.
