You should have one really busy day shortly@Wildthing - to be honest, I am getting to like the challenge of the DS and would love to have a go!
Sloper status
Fusion - ready to fly.
Pylon Racer - flaps fitted, just need to balance the CG with battery.
Vista - ready to fly (although I want to add a battery charging circuit).
Spitfire - ready to fly.
Slippery Pitcheron - Underside of wing to skin - fuse to tidy up and fit the rotor housing - then find the CG.
Nice squadron. LOL, the 32 knots is almost what we have been dealing with all week long and it just isn't going away and the killer part of it is the temp, we had a high of 3 degrees Celsius today. You are stepping into spring and we are being blown into winter. Here are my ships that are currently in flying trim - I have another 1.3m Pitcheron to maiden, and I am working on some CAD for a +2m balsa build.
Spring is here and I have managed a few flights - last weekend was a ripper with the Fusion in 32 knots!

Great looking collection! Are you liking the BAMF? Anything you don't like about it? Any mods, durability issues, or odd flight characteristics? Here are my ships that are currently in flying trim - I have another 1.3m Pitcheron to maiden, and I am working on some CAD for a +2m balsa build.

32 knots!?!? Good grief man! That takes some stones!

Eh, you get used to it! My morning flights lately have all been below 0° C... light jacket weather!@Wildthing - I can not fathom your winter temps - we get a lot of wind being a small island in the Pacific, but not the temperature extremes.

We get plenty of wind here too, but its never that nice steady coastal breeze. That was, literally, smooth sailing! Sailing my boat around here is constant trimming, but it sharpens your wind reading skills for sure. Im not as good with slope soaring, mostly my lack of skill, but a typical 10 knot day has 20+ gusts all the time. Just the other day it was a steady 30 kts with gusts that hit 70!
Absolutely, my poor old phantom has more flight time below freezing than above because I've used it so much to check cows in the winter. I always have batteries on the dash of the truck pre heating before flight. Same goes for my planes. Also why i spent the extra money to fly pixhawk, it has an internal heaterNot sure what batteries you use mate but I found the first two years of flying my packs life span was cut by near half when I used to fly in weather below 40F. Unless you take one pack at a time out from a warm house and right into the air it kills the internal resistance. Maybe not so much on single motor aircraft but on multi engine it really stresses them. Keep an eye on internal resistances if you regularly fly in colder weather lest ye make a time bomb waiting to pop while on a charger.
Your idea of cold doesn't even come close to mineLuckily it is not so cold here - just windy!
