So is FT Extra Dead?

So initially when I gave $25 in 12/2014, there were pretty frequent videos, with relatively unedited random flights and crazy ideas from the FT team. I gave that amount voluntarily because it seemed that the video output was high and I actually prefer the uncensored and unedited videos. Now, it has changed to a subscription only system...so despite the initial payment I changed to a set payment schedule. But in the last month there have been a total of 8 videos, most of them in the beginning of may and they are relatively boring excepting the ceiling raccoon video. Only 1 video in the last week. I thought it was supposed to be smaller, less edited videos multiple times a week between the 2x/wk usual FT videos. Are y'all just giving up on the frequent B roll posts? Don't see much activity in this forum, which doesn't bode well. Hoping for some more frequent posts...love the random shit like the goat, maidens, failures, dangerous ideas, etc.

I spent the same amount and no doubt agree on the content. I really have no desire to pay monthly now so I have pretty much given up on FT Extra. I still love FT and have come to understand that these guys are doing the best they can and try really hard. They are not professional producers and keeping a schedule of any kind is difficult for them. Try to be patient and appreciate that they do more for us and the hobby than anyone else on the planet!! I'm truly glad they exist and hope they flourish.

ft extra is being updated to soon to have chat rooms and better video quality i dont like the way extra and the other content is going but after we've let them know its got better

Ft extra is for video that really has no other place to go. When it first started they had years of "c" roll stuff that was fun to watch but had no other use. So now that they have uploaded most of it the stuff you see now is added when it's made. If you want to see things that won't even make it on there follow them on Twitter and now periscope. They just took a dragonfly multi and put the two center motors so they are pushing the dragonfly instead of lifting. It was quite mad.

I too did the $25.00 "donation" and would do that on an annual basis if there was enough content to justify the expense. As for a regular monthly fee???.......No, sorry, you'd have to have way more to offer and keep it fresh bi-weekly at the very least! I liked the video added to the podcast idea because it's hard to do an hour of audio only and keep moving the mouse so the screen won't go blank altogether. My suggestion is that if your going to talk about it, you should also have a video to go with it. The last podcast I listened to was very funny but there were no stills or video to go with the treed plane adventure! Rule number one when flying on behalf of FT for review, is to shoot some video to go with it!

Must say, I'm pretty bummed as well... As an Avid FT Supporter I paid my dues for the $25 FT Extra Access, watched 1 video, and got busy in life for a while. Then come back to watch some more now that I've slowed and it's as though I never existed. Kind of bums me out to say the least. Now to have to donate more every single month from now on, I'm not sure that that's for me. Kinda sucks really.

I'm not advocating that anybody "steal" the FT Extra content....

But I'm one of those guys who donated up front and doesn't want to rope myself now into a monthly subscription fee. So when the block popped up asking me for more money I found a (pretty simple, actually) way around it and I'm still watching the FT Extra content. But since they are indeed much less frequent, I just wander in once a week or so to see if anything's new.

(No, I won't tell you how I circumvented the money-grubbing window. It's bad enough that I'm doing it. I don't want to start a chain of delinquency.)

FT Extra ranks up there with flitetest.com/setups, good in theory but lacking in execution/content I still hold the faintest bit of hope that both of these initiatives can deliver something resembling value
