This spot has been on my radar for a while, but I've been too intimidated to fly there. Decided to bite the bullet tonight, given my recent unluckiness regarding locations. I'm not Charpu, Boris B, Metalldanny or FGA, but I did have fun.

Thanks guys. That spot was more fun than I had expected. When I attempted to fly proximity last year using Revo/OpenPilot and 5030s, it just wasn't dialed-in. It kind of turned me off to the idea, thinking I just wasn't good enough yet. LuxFloat and 5x4s make a world of difference. Still got my crashes in, but they were crashes because I was pushing, not because I couldn't control it.

Hey totally unrelated but where did you get zip ties small enough to fit through your board camera. i was going to take your advise and mount my camera the way you should in the thread i posted a few days ago. how ever, i can't find small enough zip ties at my hardware store....

Nice ninja spot. That table at the end is asking for a practice fly under. And it looks like there are a few good 'v'-joints in the trees to go between as well. But, enough couch coaching... good flight.

There were A LOT of things there that were temping me as I was flying. But *this* quad is still pretty new, only about 4 crashes on it. I'm just learning the bigger props, and I'm way out of practice. I'm still at the point where I'm noticeably better after flying four batteries. Those temptations can wait a little while, but I will get video going under that picnic table eventually.

Yeah, I get it. The truth is, flying in big empty fields is easy and makes for entertaining youtube content. But the real skill is in tight quarters. I've put off flying in this spot because of that. But once I tried, I'm glad I did, and can't wait to go back.

Hahaha! My music taste is quite varied. The first two hours of the show (9pm - 11pm Eastern) are mostly Synth Pop and 80s-inspired stuff. In the third hour, I usually go a bit off the rails. Because it's my station and I do what I want.
