Spektrum DX4e Reciver (SPMR4400C)
I have a Spectrum DX4e transmitter that came with my Hobbyzone Super Cub S With SAFE. The plane came with a bind plug but it didn't come with the DX4e reciver (the reciver/ESC, I think/gyro with SAFE was built in with the plane). I've been wanting to make my first scratch build using the DX4e (FT Power pack a minis with 800 mAh 3s 20c LiPo Battery) and was wondering wether or wether not I can buy the reciver without having to buy a new transmitter? I was looking around on google and found a reciver on Amazon but I wrote this just to be sure.

Yes pretty much any Spektrum DSMX/DSM2 RX should work. If you want to get "Spektrum" brand then the cheapest is probably the ar400

But a Dx4e TX actually has 6 channels so it's a better value to get a 6 channel RX like the ar610. You can do more things with it.

If you are not bothered by FCC certifications then you could also use Orange brand or Lemon brand DSM2/DSMX RXs. I would avoid anything that is DSM2 only. There are still reasons to use those but DSM2 is being phased out for good reason.

That said the DX4e is pretty limiting so you might want to start considering a new TX. For Spektrum the new DX6e is their new "entry level" TX and is reasonable value if a bit expensive for just 6 channels...I would avoid the DXe personally.

There are other (better imo) choices of non Spektrum TX depending on your interests but it's a good place to start looking.

Also, check out Lemon-RX. They have some good stuff, and it's a bit cheaper than spektrum's gear. The reliability of their receivers is also amazing. I have been using a diversity DSMX PPM receiver on my LOS quad for a while now; ZERO connection glitches. Ever.



But for a park flyer scratch build, you'll probably be fine with just diversity antennas, or a receiver with a satellite.
