Solved Spektrum Variometer

So I am going to buy a Voltanex 2.6m asw28 glider from banggood and make it fpv but I kind of want a vario in it but I have no idea how they work. I think it is just a different receiver with vario and altitude built in but I'm not sure how to set it up or whether it would work with my dx8 Tx.

Is that a gen 1 or gen2 DX8?

You are in the same boat as me. The Gen 1 can do altitude but not variometer according to the Horizon Hobby web site.

Found out that the LemonRX telemetry rx including vario is the same thing, only altitude for gen1.

I still have my DX8 but use a FrSky X9D+ for all my telemetry needs. Mostly keep the DX8 for BNF.
