Ok, guys, I'm just about to pull the trigger on this one. Did my homework seem a good buy? but before I go for it can you guys tell me if there is any reason I don't want to do this?

Here’s one that’s a tad cheaper.

While I don’t have any personal experience with anycubic, the reviews seem to suggest it’s similar to the ender 3.
Should be fine for your “first” printer.... (you’ll find it’s an addictive hobby as much as RC.)

Looks like the same basic prusa layout with a nice solid frame. Might be a few tweaks I’d suggest (looks like a standard bowden feed, might look into a bit of Capricorn tubing and shorting the length) but not really researching the design I wouldn’t want to suggest you go crazy with updates out of the box.

Initially stick to PLA, it’s the easiest to work with.

Looks like a solid choice, good luck!

Well it looks comparable to mine and maybe even a better from. I like the print area, I wouldn't go any smaller. Price is about what I paid and $188.00 US is about par. Now from the same seller on Ebay he lists another one and I don't know what the difference is but it is $19.00 cheaper.

@kilroy - yes, and I have printed it in ABS (which they say it is not suitable for) - I have had issues with warping the bottom edge of the bed on the main wing centre joins, but it is nothing I can't sort in the assembly! :D

I got a 4s battery and 4s capable esc and flew the spitfire on 4s for the first time today! 3s is fun, but 4s is another world. I flew hard and had to come in for a dead stick... I can’t wait to fly it again - it was so much fun!
What motor were you using? Was it the old FT C Pack motor?

Looks like if you buy one for all of us you get a better deal, my hand is up:p;):LOL:
:LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO: +1.

So since you’re stuck with me, here’s the Spit with the Storch I just (almost) finished. Trying to decide if the Storch gets slats now, and which motor, etc. Still need to print the plans for the Georgia Cracker from RCM 8/67. Should be a fun balsa 3ch build semi-scale. Contemplating a Spitfire wing on

Have you flown the Storch before? Or a plane with slats?

The Storch wing creates a serious amount of lift and is already pitch sensitive to throttle, takes off in 6' or less, and could almost land it on a dime. If I was you I would go with split flaps, gives you the choice to have a standard wing design or deploy flaps if needed. What do you think?

The C at least, you may be disappointed with the B on a plane that size. Some people run the B on the Simple Scout and then change up to the C after they find B to be somewhat underpowered even for that airframe. Actually any standard size plane FT puts out should run the C unless you plan to fly indoors with no wind to fight. B will fly it but will take away so many more options with a plane that size for sure. I run a motor bigger then the C on all my planes of standard size. When they give motor size recommendations in the plans or build vids it is a bare minimum requirement.

How long have you been in the hobby, and or building with FT?
