I got 2 bum escs. I put the non-working escs there. I figured for yaw / diff. thrust I want the turning motors outboard as much as I can... this thing has a good amount of thrust. this is on 3s, 6 motors. I was considering with a 5mAh batter 2S it would pull much let

let me figure the time I should expect to have on the flight, assuming I can fly the whole pack.
2.2 Ah battery / (6x10A) = 2.2 min (duh) - likely traveling using 50% throttle, likely to put 5-6 A it will likely be about 4 mins. I will start here... with all 8 motors... this is about 1 2/3 min.
if it will lift the 5 Ah battery (and extra 250g+) This will extend fly time quite a bit. to somewhere respectable.

Interesting note, for balance, the large 5Ah battery sits straddling the with wing front edge. with the 2200mAh, it is in the nose. (like the mid way in)
The good new is none of the ESC caught fire/smoked. and It has a LOT of push.

Previous nights spent wrangling the wirey beast

Weighed it. 650g no batt. around 850 with the battery, and 1250 with a big batt.

I spent some time attempting to get the Spruce gosling flying...

The elevator servo stop working. Better on the ground than off I suppose. I figured a ground test can't hurt... Much.
The motor fix was a swap of wires. Tomorrow I will try again.

When I have a plane with multiple motors I will always do a vertical thrust test to make sure it wants to lift straight, if it doesn't there is no sense even trying to fly it.

Thank you. I have tried to fix this and have to go back and do a more thorough check later today. currently wants to spin. It should be taking off. It wants to take off. but instead spins.

Difficult to see from Photo's but it looks like one of your props on one wing is reversed compared to the others. I guess this could cause the imbalance you are experiencing. But I've been wrong before :)

Well at the rate it is spinning it is like you have differential thrust set up .

Don't hit me but are you sure all the props are on the right way and going the right direction as the motor?

Suggest you restrain the plane and get a tachometer and check the RPM's of each motor. I don't know your battery setup, but it is possible that amperage loading on one side might be more than the other, causing it to rotate.

I had a transport with a bad winding on one motor that caused it to spin due to uneven Rpm's. It doesn't take much of a difference of RPM's to have it act as differential thrust.

They pull from one battery. to two distribution boards (rated for 30A) and send them to the ESC each side is is mirror to the other in wire length.

I do have differential setup and with it I wasn't able to set it straight. Thank you for the suggestions I will be getting into it today. and checking the dumb stuff, like rotation and prop direction.

Agreed LH inboard looks to be wrong compared to others. Not sure that's it but between that and possible wrong rotation it could do it.

Good luck, it looks so good I really want it to work.

I just bought all the motors and esc's to build. I'm going to cut the foam out tomorrow, may try to do it on a live stream. I went with a modified medium version 1104 7500kv knock-off motors and 30a knockoff esc's. May try to do your builduary contest with it. Did you ever get it to fly or did you move on?

not flying. I haven't gotten back to rebuild the wing and figure out where the issue was. maybe this will be the kick in the pants in neede to finish this up.
