I might try that.I think somebody linked together pieces of half inch PVC pipe until they had enough to reach.
local hardware stores only have 40. could it still work?Does need to be schedule 80 otherwise after two lengths it makes a big arc and touches the ground. metal conduit perhaps? Spray foam filled?
The tree they are stuck in is basically unclimbable. I tried using my drone to drop a branch attached to a rope but it won't grip the branch properly, but I did get close so I will keep on trying.I've climbed up after them, waited for a windstorm, and even tied a cord onto a club members' drone to fly it up to the limb.
I'm not worried about the airframe much. It's more the electronics. How well did yours survive?Foam board is surprisingly resilient when hung in a tree for months.
It would be pretty floppy. It could still work if all the plane needs is just a poke to get it down. Metal conduit yes if you can manage the weight of it.local hardware stores only have 40. could it still work?
Salvaged everything but the batteryI'm not worried about the airframe much. It's more the electronics. How well did yours survive?
Yeah metal would be too heavy. It would be pretty floppy. It could still work if all the plane needs is just a poke to get it down. Metal conduit yes if you can manage the weight of it.
Hopefully I will be able to salvage the battery too.Salvaged everything but the battery
OUCH!! I suggest PVC or conduit👍So I was flying my Profile Edge yesterday and I tried a flat spin, but it got pushed by the wind over some trees, so I pulled up and...snap the wings folded. Now it goes into a real flat spin into a tree (about 56ft up). So I got out my bow and arrow (so cheap it can't go 20ft high), but that did not work. tried throwing a hook with a weight but again that did not go high enough. So I took out my Profile Xtrem 3D and put a bomb trop on it, attached a weight at the end of the rope and then placed it on the bomb drop. So I flew the plane over the tree then droped the weight, land the plane, try to pull on the rope to shake the tree, but even though I made the tree shake a good bit it stil would not come out (I think it might have a servo wire tangled around a branch or something like that). So I kept on tying to fly over the tree with my plane, but it was getting dark so I lost orientation of the plane and WAM into the tree. So now I have TWO planes stuck in the same tree (the second one is a bit lower). Now what do I do? Rain is coming in two days so I need to get them out before then. BTW the tree would be very hard and dangerous to climb.
Any ideas welcome. @LitterBug @Houndpup Rc @Mr Man @Mr NCT
Yeah, even thick 2" will do that...You just fit it up between branches and use them to support it so it doesn't bend too much.Does need to be schedule 80 otherwise after two lengths it makes a big arc and touches the ground. metal conduit perhaps? Spray foam filled?
I have been able to move the plane down lower by punching it...I’ve managed to get a rope in the tree and shake but they still have not moved. I think the edge has a loose servo stuck between branches.
Careful not to get the drone caught! That is a LOT harder to get out as it a lot smaller and not as light and has a bunch of props to hang up on stuff...The tree they are stuck in is basically unclimbable. Maybe you can get someone to help you...Yeah metal would be too heavy.
Yeah I'm not using my drone anymore, too windy and I almost got it caught yesterday.Careful not to get the drone caught! That is a LOT harder to get out as it a lot smaller and not as light and has a bunch of props to hang up on stuff...
