Storch Motor, which one?

I am in the process of scratch building a new Storch, as my old one is getting towards the end of its life, including the motor...

In my internet searches I am having a problem finding any motor recommendations for the Storch. So far I have found this one that looks good, Turnigy D3530/14 1100KV Brushless Outrunner Motor, https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-d3530-14-1100kv-brushless-outrunner-motor.html

The current setup with the Emaxx GT2215/09 motor and 10 x 4.7 Slow Fly prop has been great for learning with, but I have overstressed the motor with learning aerobatics and flying fast, so the motor is loosing its upper rpm punch. I am also using the Turnigy 2200 25c batteries with the setup. I just purchased a 40c and will be using that with the new build.

So, I will be flying at a medium speed and learning aerobatics and will be going to a 9x6 prop for higher top speeds and lower stress on the motor. There are so many motor choices it is hard to figure out which one...I will probably stick with the current motor controller, the 30amp.

If you're going to stay with the 30A ESC then a 3530 is a good choice for a bit of a bump above the C pack motor you're using now. If it were me I would go for a higher kv option though if the plan is for a bit more speed with a 9x6 prop.

I've had very good luck with NTM motors in planes so far. Actually, now that I see that price I'm tempted to buy a couple to use in C pack planes I'd like a bit more kick out of.

NTM is beefy, but would need a 50 amp esc and then you start adding some weight also...
 
I have a similar setup and there is nothing wrong with the Emax motor, but the D3530/14 looks slighly better. But on thing is for sure, if you need a flat discharge curve get the 3000 mAh 15C 3S from Hobbyking. Much better punch out than the other Turnigy LiPos. The prop you are using isn't really suited for speed at all, good grunt at the start but as soon a the plane pick up speeds it's no fun. So the 9x6 might do the trick.

You could get by with a 30a ESC with the 9x6 prop. Not gonna need more than that until you start adding a bigger prop or more battery cells.

Also, the storch won't even blink at the weight increases were talking about. 30 grams of additional weight won't even phase it.

If you discover you like the speed you could upgrade to a 40-45 amp esc, add an 11x6 prop and go to town.

Whatever you decide to do, any of the motors mentioned so far will work fine.
