Strange audio message for throttle on and off.

I have a Pocket CC2500 purchased here.
In the default model "FT Plane," when you push SA, it toggles the throttle off and on. But I didn't realize that for a long time. The audible message says "pressure on" and "pressure off". It took me forever to figure out that it was talking about the throttle.

But I can't figure out where that message came from. If I go into special functions, it says to use the audio file "thrcut" and "thract" depending upon the position of SA. There is also a special function when SA^ that it sets channel 3 to -100, which makes perfect sense.

So I connect the transmitter to my PC using USB. I copied the entire contents of the SD card to a folder and went looking through the .wav files. There are over 700 of them. I found "thrcut.wav" and "thract.wav," and when you play them on my PC, it says "Throttle Cut" and "Throttle Active."

I can't say I've listened to all 700+ wave files, but I haven't yet found one that says "Pressure On" and "Pressure Off." There is certainly nothing that begins with "p" that says "Pressure", whatever.

These sounds have to be mistakenly coming from somewhere, but I can't find the .wav files or figure out why the specified wave files are not being played.

Is there a set of "special functions" that overrides model settings that is global to all models?

Well, the Mystery continues. I don't have any global functions.

I went into the model settings to change the sound. It was set for"thract" or "thrcut." So I tried changing it to
"threna" or "thrdis" and now rather than saying "pressure off" and "pressure on", it now says "pressure enabled" and "pressure disabled."

Yet when I go to the SD card and look at those wave files and play them on my PC, they all say "throttle" whatever rather than "pressure" whatever.

I wonder if wave files have the ability to store multiple tracks, and somehow my PC is playing a different track than the transmitter. I've got more exploring to do.

This is really strange.

I discovered that indeed ".wav" files can have multiple streams that supposedly can be split out using an editing program such as "DaVinci Resolve." So I downloaded the program, opened up one of the files in question, and loaded it into Resolve. It sounds like "throttle," just like it does using other playback software on my PC. It doesn't show multiple strains.

This is so stupid. But I've got to figure out why those files play differently on the transmitter than I do on my PC. And/or if the transmitter is playing a different file, where the hell is it?

New update. I created a sound file called "testing.wav" and loaded it onto the SD card. When I tried to access it under Special Functions, it does not appear in the list of available sound files. And yes, I tried power cycling the transmitter after loading the new sound.

Have you tried selecting and playing the individual wav files directly on the TX, not from your pc?

On your radio...
Long press System
Page right to SD Card
Scroll down to Sounds
Click Sounds
Scroll down to EN
Scroll through your wav files to the file you want to hear, click it, then click play.

You can try deleting and reinstalling the sound files if your issues continue.

The names are limited to 6 characters. More than that and they are not recognized.

Model page 12 of 12

It will say Script followed by the name of the script.

So I have two Screen scripts configured below. TB090 and iNav

Here is my last word on the topic. I was able to create compatible files that sounded properly, but I still don't know how the original files could sound one way on my transmitter and a different way on my PC.

Are you headed to FliteFest?
I'm sure it would be tons of fun, considering the videos as seen. Unfortunately, I'm approaching 70 years old and severely disabled, so I don't travel more than an hour from my home.

My dad flew RC planes after he retired. This was the era of balsa wood and mono cote and gas engines. I still have an old Futaba radio of his in the garage. It had no microprocessor or LCD. It was strictly analog internally with potentiometers in the joysticks (not hall effect). Sadly he's been gone six years.

Recently, my great-nephew, who is 14, said he wanted to be an aeronautical engineer. I asked him, "How many airplanes have you built or flown?" He said, "None."

I purchased a starter kit from here, and we have been building it. Fuselage, tail, and powerpod are complete. The transmitter is working the throttle, rudder, and elevator properly.

He has been practicing with a PC simulator. He is out of town a few weeks but when he returns we will finish the wing and give it a try.

I'm exploring ways for someone disabled like me to be able to operate such a transmitter. I have flown DJI drones using my wheelchair joystick, a homemade Arduino interface, and some specialized software. Unfortunately, the software is no longer supported. I think I can tap into SBUS on a training module, connect that to my Arduino board, and connect that to my wheelchair joystick. Flying a fixed-wing would be tough, so I'm looking into FPV drones that are compatible with Radio Master transmitters. I don't want something fast like a racer. I need something GPS stabilized that I can take off, hover (even in a breeze), and then give it short blips of the controls. I had a pushbutton that toggles my joystick between left and right joysticks.

I know this can be done. It's just putting the pieces together.

Here is me flying the DJI Spark.
