Suggestions for cheap new trainers

just looking for suggestions for a new trainer that is cheap but still good quality

define cheap, I always recommend the E-flite apprentice to beginners. If it were me I would get the BNF apprentice for 249.99 and the DX6. you will get a charger, battery and the plane with an excellent remote with the DX6. If you are looking for even cheaper the Flite test trainer with a DX6 would be another excellent choice. I like the apprentice as it can be glued back together and parts are cheap relatively to replace. It always has the safety switch and three flight modes. A dx6 will also keep you flying for a while until you get into either helis or quads.

If you want to scratch build, build the ft nutball or if you want a simple rtf trainer go for the Hobbyzone champ(flite test do a beginner series with it)or the Hobbyking bix3 as it can also be turned into an fpv platform
