Swappable Improvement Concept

Josh / Josh / David / Chad,

Your swappable concept made it easy for me to get back into the hobby and grow my skills -- thanks for that. However, I've found the most challenging part to be properly sizing the motors. For example, after Minwax-ing my Spitfire, the 28-26 motor just didn't provide enough power to get it off the ground.

My proposal is to expand the swappable series by color-coding the planes and power pods. For lightweight models (e.g. under 300 grams) use yellow. Medium weight, blue. Heavy, red. So for the FT Flyer, Nutball, and FT Delta you would install the yellow pod, the Versa and Speedster, the blue, so forth and so on. That's not to say you couldn't use a larger pod for more power, but it would give us an idea of what the minimum power necessary would be.

Perhaps you could even classify motors into color ranges.

Thanks for taking the time to read my suggestion,
Sean

The 28-26 wouldn't fly it? I have an Emax 2210 on mine and it works great...
What Kv and prop are you using?
