They are worries that the drones will be uses as spying machines and violate peoples privacy. They are not outright 'banned', but you will have to pay a registration fee and get a permit, which you are not guaranteed to be able to get.

Hopefully they rethink this ruling and/or David is able to get a permit. Otherwise we may see David back on Flitetest in the states more often...

From what I know about govt there from gamer friends there what the people think doesn't usually count if it doesn't fit in with the political environments desires. Unless it is an overwhelming majority (which FPV pilots would not be) its a do as we say thing pretty much.

About the same as anywhere else. If the gov't wants to control it then the most absurd and non thought out things will happen.

It is a shame! Does Sweden have a national representative body for modelers that could approach the government and get permission for some form of licensed use of FPV etc?

It is just another case of a few fringe lunatics with access to Public Media making true enthusiasts look like dangerous criminally motivated cowboys.
