Aloft Hobbies has a NiMH Charging Kit for the Taranis Q X7. I’ve installed in mine and have documented the steps in a blog post and video.

I've installed this also. What battery(ies) are you using? I've been running eneloops in mine. The aloft wall outlet charged them up to 8.6V. I wonder if that's too much. I need to test the output voltage when I'm home later.

That is correct:)
I started with Amazon Basics but the Aloft Hobbies NiMH pack was such a good deal I'm using that now:)

I think locate charging jack on top half better than on bottom. Then less chance of breaking the wires when opening the case.

Why jack without switch, which off battery from PCB?

There is limited space on the other half of the case.
The PCB may get damaged during drilling.

i'd rather do charging back at the ranch than deal with it at the field. when i had a qx7 i just soldered up a quad of AA six cells for quick field swap outs, using turnigy 2500mah and enelope 1900's. i also made a jst male/female jumper cable to prevent wear to the tx female jst and pc board - just did the same for the pair of jumper t8sg tx's that use lipo power.
