Welcome to Team ALLIED FORCES! If you are here, it's probably because you are building a righteous American, English or Soviet Union aircraft (or other Allied power, France, China et al., see below) that never saw action! (See Contest Rules Here) This is the place to talk with other builders/pilots about strategies and techniques and also coordinate our squadrons.

One important objective we have is to all have a coordinated paint scheme so all the ALLIED FORCES aircraft can look amazing together, along with markings, insignia and logo. And to complete more quality entry projects than the Luftwaffe. (Yes you might be competing against yourselves.) and to that end I need VOLUNTEERS skilled with graphics to help create Skins and schemes. WHO'S IN!?

All together - Allied Forces Rock!
I can't here you! - ALLIED FORCES ROCK!
What are you, Children?! -
ALLIED FORCES ROCK!

That's better, now go get it done and let's show the world how Team ALLIED FORCES does it!

According to Wikipedia the following coutries constituted the Allied forces. Most known aircraft originated from the Major Affiliated States.
2 Major affiliated state combatants
2.1 United Kingdom
2.2 China
2.3 France
2.4 Soviet Union
2.5 United States
3 Minor affiliated state combatants
3.1 Australia
3.2 Belgium

This thread was a great idea.

I will work on some nose art and a mascot we can use. I can not guarantee when I will have these done, but I will work on them proper once the Phantom is done.

A quick sketch of the "Allied Mighty Gremlin"
FTFC18 Gremlin Sketch.jpg
I am a little rusty, it has been over 8 years since I really did any sketching.

Phantom Project Update:
The alpha prototype Phantom has been officially retired.
The beta design is about 80% complete. I need about one more solid weekend of work on the design and I can start the build.

:applause: :applause: @NAMACTUAL THAT IS THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER!! :applause: :applause:

@Userofmuchtape&glue - no need for the plane to have ever flown - so long as it never saw combat in WW2 it's good to go!

Can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get that on t-shirts!!

I would so buy one in a heart beat!

I think I'm going to have to build one of these Allied designs for Flite Fest just so I can stick that logo on it :)

That logo is SWEEEET!

Right, then. Arvo 707 is my official entry.

avro-707_1.jpg

20/1 scale yields a handy 500mm WS, and I hope this will be a quick build.

I can't make it to FF, and I can design plans on turbocad put printing is always a trial.

Does anyone know what Australian planes might have been use in WWII if any? That's worth a research project.

NAMactual. That "sketch" is spectacular. He should have spitfire wings...

@ Rockyboy - please note userofmuchtapeand glues entry.

Awesome!

What paint scheme of the ones above is a favorite/top 3?

Australia, hmm... that's my pet subject! ;)

CAC CA-1, CA-3, CA-5, CA-7, CA-8, CA-9, CA-16 Wirraway (trainer and general purposes aircraft)
CAC CA-2, CA-6 Wackett Trainer (trainer)
CAC CA-12, CA-13, CA-14, CA-19 Boomerang (fighter)
CAC CA-11 Woomera (prototype medium bomber)
CAC CA-17 Mustang Mk.20, CA-18 Mk.21/22/23, CA-21 Mk.24 (fighter, North American P-51 Mustang)
CAC CA-15 "Kangaroo" (prototype fighter)
CAC CA-28 Ceres (crop duster)
CAC CA-22, CA-25 Winjeel (trainer)
CAC CA-26, CA-27 Avon-Sabre (fighter)
CAC CA-30 Macchi MB-326H (trainer)

I looked at the CAC planes as a possible design entry but I chose the 707 just for the ease of build and cos I am out of foam :(

I figured with as many Aussies and Kiwi's on the forums here, we'd have a handful of entries for the Austraulian contingent. However, Australia's role, with the Royal Australian Airforce Forces being created in response to Japan entering WWII, it only stands to reason there would be a much smaller showing from the newcomer. Maybe you can help me know which of these in your list above are candidates for the challenge/contest?

I see the CAC CA-11 Woomera and the CA-15 "Kangaroo" and maybe the C-2 variant of the Wackett trainer, although I wouldn't know how to differentiate between the 2 prototypes (C-2) and the later production version (C-6.)

C-2 Wackett -Trainer(most likely ineligable)

I'm am sorry to hear about your foam situation... truly. I think I'd be trying out fanfold with kraft paper polyurethaned on to tide me over.

*sheepishly raises hand, then stands* "Hi... I'm FoamyDM and I have a problem building foamies."

The wiki indicated it was based on it, but didn't have the same design goals so had differences.

I think it would be great to be color coordinated, so here is the colors of the Ascender XP-55

Gray bottom with olive on top.

The FlyingSub is Metal... However, I'm thinking Razzle Dazzle...
