The Boomcopter - a tricopter with a twist

David mentioned this in a recent podcast and since I couldn't find this with search, thought I'd post this here too.
Just an amazing twist for a tricopter :D So bananas!

"The Boom-prop is a motor-mount where the propeller uniquely rotates around a tubular boom. The assembly can be clamped anywhere on the boom, so making adjustments to your plane's CG very easy.

There's no limit to what size prop you can use. Your prop will never strike the boom, as it rotates around it. You can even have cables (from the tail servos or video tx) going THROUGH the centre of your prop, which messes with your head to start with, but is very cool!

You could have multiple Boom-props on one boom, counter-rotating, or switch between a very large shallow-pitch prop for super-efficient climbing and a much smaller, steeper-pitch prop for efficient cruising.

It's light weight and since it uses a tooth belt and quality bearings, it's also very quiet, efficient too and free of any slop or vibration."

I love love LOVE this! I've had ideas for years that require a boom-mounted motor like this, but never had the time to actually build the thing. This is such an elegant solution, thanks for sharing!
