The earliest form of RC flight - A kite!

Don't underestimate the maneuverability of a single line kite. The fighter type designs can be flown just about any direction you desire. It just takes skill and practice. Try a "Hata" from the "Into The Wind link I posted. It will fly in up to 40 mph winds and can be flown very aggressively with a single string and no tail. Put a tail on it and it becomes a docile children's kite.

I have two great two-string stunt kites, one is my dad's and one is mine. They're heaps of fun to fly on a windy day. It's pretty easy to pick up the basic stunts like loops and figure eights. Next time we have wind I'm gonna try and do something like on that video SteveOBHave posted!

You want a fairly low wind day to do that stuff - 5mph or there abouts otherwise you'll just be chasing your kite down the park trying to get it to stall or side slide (the precursor to most of these tricks.)
