I could use landing gear wire, but the thin stuff is on back order on the ft store and I don't feel like spending $10 on wire anyway. The issue is that I had to go further out from the wing root than you did to get past the popsicle stick I had glued to the top for the rubber bands. In retrospect I should've just cut the popsicle stick shorter.

Got the little Jug all painted up...
Was thinking of putting decals on it, like the Star and Bars over the tail stripes or even sharks teeth up front, but that would just add more weight
I will say it did turn out pretty sweet, and straight from all visual angles, now just to fly it, that will be the real story

Also you said you were using .047 size wire? I think that's much thicker than what I'm using too. That's probably the bigger problem. I think I found some wire that'll work though.
Yeah - it’s a tad thicker than the FT pushrod wire.
I dig it! What motor are you going to fly it off of?

Giving up is always an option. I gave up trying to make one servo flaps because I didn't have the right wire. I went to strip an extra servo out of a glider I'm getting rid of and lo and behold, being one of my first builds this glider used thick welding wire as pushrods. It had just enough for what I needed.

It's really tempting to get the Flite Test UMX Beaver, and repaint it. I'd spend almost that much on electronics to build one out of foam board anyway, and it comes with floats already!

I've got a frankenplane thing that weighs just a hair over 250g fully loaded. I made it from an old(custom) stick plane's stick and tail feathers. It flew pretty good when I maidened it today, but have since added features(paint on the tail feathers and a circular prop guard that also supports the nose a bit). it looks pretty odd, but is easy and smooth to fly. I'll take some pics soon and post it.

I really have to give the credit to the design. All i did was try to keep it clean, the paint was the usual shoot it on rattle can style. I do think i want to try airbrushing@BATTLEAXE - Nice to see you are continuing to set new standards with each build!
Me too. My buddy who does model railroading upgraded and I might be able to buy his old one off of him for cheap. I'll have to shoot him a text and see...
